Impressive illustration of the effects of climate change. We get floods around here every year but I’m expecting there to be some real whoppers this time around.
Best advice is not to get too adventurous around fast flowing waters. They can contain unseen hazards and have more force behind them than a freight train. I give them a total miss. I’ve seen cars picked up and swept downstream and it’s ‘kin scary.
It‘s one of the reasons that we chose this house, it would take something of biblical proportions to flood us out with being built into the hillside, the river valley below us and the flood plain on the other side of it. We can get cut off though.

Luckily Mark floods of that magnitude normally recede almost as quickly as they come. I remember one time in Germany that the river Wesser flooded about 20 feet above the normal level. Two days later we were picking up stranded trout in the fields as the water receded.
