Well today my boy Merlin became a Dad.
6 beautiful Blue Merle puppies from the lovely Mali. 2 girls 4 boys.
One of the boys will be ours and he shall be named Silvestris, but we will call him Silva

Between them they've done a great job, it won't happen again, Merlin is such a good dog, who I once nearly gave up on, I wanted his line to continue. Quest now complete, I'm sorry boy, but it's knackers off!

It’s best to wait as long as you can because doing it too early can be linked to other health issues.

The vet said the very same thing himself, so he's offered a chemical neutering that lasts so long. Because he spends time at the farm around Mali, when we know she's coming into heat, we are thinking get the jab, then it wears off do the same the next heat etc

Well first there was one, (Merlin) then there was two, (Copper) now there's 3!
And the family is complete!
He's not ready to come home yet, but this is Silva.
One of six pups, and Merlin's the daddy, he will be joining us on Christmas eve!

Congratulations there mate! A family isn’t complete without a doggo or two, so I reckon.

And bushman is no bushman without a bush dog. That pup looks like he might do the job

Puppies are such fun!

Cheers

Alan

Thanks Alan 😊
The Mrs told me this time last year "Get yourself a dog" cos I hadn't had one since my dog passed in 2011. Bet she's having second thoughts about saying that now............

3 collies is more than enough for anyone, stopping there now and no more dogs for a decade or so.

Which one will be my camping companion? Merlin is a wuss, tried and its not his thing, Copper next, see how he does

I had the same issue but the problem is that my dogs are all complete tarts…they’re anyone’s for fried food, especially sausage or bacon. They’re everywhere except where they’re supposed to be…all these people cooking low down on the ground with silvery pots and pans that look a bit like dog bowls…it’s so confusing.

Our pets can give us boundless joy, unconditional love, and unswerving devoted companionship. But can also be a monumental pain in the ass! Or in my case…the back. 🤣

My wife and I spent just spent weekend in Darwin for my birthday. It was fabulous!

When we arrived home yesterday, I pulled my LandRover into the shed, but too close to the wall for The Boy to jump out. So I leant into the cabin to lift him out. He is a large and brutish creature and trying to lift him while leaning in only succeeded in putting my back out.

It’s nothing serious, just a pulled muscle, but a forcing me to go easy today…

I must be getting old ( or The Boy fat)

Alan

The Boy befriended a young pig on our morning walk today. Have to admit I have a soft spot for pigs, despite the damage they do because of their intelligence and admirable resilience. I’ve shot a few -but am far more tolerant of them than some neighbouring properties.

The Boy and I sighted the pig together and he disappeared into the scrub after it. I followed carefully towards the sound of grunting. I was unarmed and wasn’t sure if it was an old tusker.

I found The Boy standing virtually nose to
nose with a small pig, wagging his tail and pig softly grunting. Made me wonder whether The Boy had met that particular pig before.

My approach startled pig and it trotted off. It was a handsome looking animal, healthy and well groomed and I ran my fingers through his wiry hair as he trotted past me…

Expecting tirade of bacon gags from you itchy trigger finger brigade…🤣

That’s quite a picture, almost certainly what Skye would be like…except he would be moping back home sat under the full blast of the air conditioning.
