Kit tart!
That's what they'll be calling me at the summer meet.
But variety is the spice of life, and after 20 years of faithfulness to DD hammocks, I decided it was time for a change.
I've just taken delivery of a Kompound hammock and down camping blanket from One Tigris.

I've done a fair bit of research before buying these, and hope they are as good as they sound. First use will be at the summer meet, 5 days and nights to impress me.
I already like how the Kompound has been designed. Everything is well thought and practical, even the storage bag clips to the built in ridge line to become an organiser for those items needed close to hand.

The quilt seems rugged and we'll made, extremely light weight packs down really small. Watch this space and I'll be back with a verdict soon

Well after spending 4 nights using the hammock and camp blanket, I must say I'm impressed!

The hammock itself is well built and everything is self contained, by that I mean everything is connected to it so there is no risk of losing anything, a carabiner or spreader bar etc.

I really like the ridge line adjustment, even though it broke on the 3rd night. But it's not the quality that broke it, user error. The under quilt I bought was of a different make and size and where I had attached it created too much pressure against the ridge line adjuster and it failed, so I have to figure a repair on that.

I also like the inner "sheet" that zips up both sides and attaches to the ridge line to create an air pocket, and keeps the morning dew or frost forming on your insulation later.

The storage bag for the hammock, that then clips to the ridge line to become a handy storage bag/organiser is a pretty nifty idea too.

The quilt went above and beyond my expectations, it's really light and really thin, but wow was I toasty and warm!
It's well made and just packs down so small. It's sort and comfortable on the inside, and has a smooth water repellent surface on the outer side too.

All in all I think I'm going to stick with this one a while 9/10 for the hammock
10/10 for the camping blanket.

Well, I just hit the button on the One Tigris all season tarp and One Tigris night protector pro under quilt to complete the whole set.
Tarp is 4m x 3m in coyote brown, as is the under quilt which is rated 3-4 seasons and claimed to be good for -5°c. Both arriving tomorrow 🙂

I hope you're not planning to rely solely on that OneTigris down blanket/over-quilt for the Scotland trip. I have one identical, except colour, and it's very good, but I really don't think it will be enough if the temperature seriously drops. It depends how you sleep, hot or cold, but I don't think even a hot sleeper would find that quilt adequate if it goes sub-zero.

Oh no no, definitely not. I have a snugpack sleeping bag rated to -7°c and I'm bringing a tent, bed and 2 inflatable sleep mats as backup. Hoping not to use the tent gear as I detest tents (claustrophobic) but it's there if I'm desperate.

Nice one mate......hope it gives you everything you want from it

Look forward to your mini review and thoughts.
