Has a fuel starvation issue, (runs for a few seconds if you squirt easy start into the carb) and I need to build a loom but apart from that she will be back on the road soon.

I passed my test on one of those…back in the depths of time. Did you get the rest of it?
Yes it's all there, the boy tried fixing it himself. Changed the tap and fuel lines, filter he's done everything but clean the carb, luckily for me that is.
He said the tap and lines were filled with sludge, can guarantee the resivoir is full of it too. He wanted £650, but as a non runner I knocked a bit off 😉

Between that recent post So many adventures not enough time and this one about buying a motorbike I’m beginning to suspect that you’re getting your mid life crisis in while you’re still young enough to enjoy it…. Respect where it’s due 😂
I suspect you are right! 🤣
I'm restricted without my own transport, and I've always had a bike, hopefully this will allow me more freedom to travel. Could pop up and see you for a cuppa Mike 😉 stay for a week 😂

It'll be green in the float bowl, get some brick acid ready to drop it in and the jets will be gobbed up as well so get some wire brush bristles to poke them through (professional method) not recommended but sometimes it's the only way.:p

Well I have it here now to work on, but finding a wiring loom is proving difficult, so I'm going to buy one online and see if I can make one from the hacked to bits loom and the new one. This is going to be a long and slow process received_1057379075440832.webp

That reminds me of Christmas lights 🫣 good luck mate 👍🏻
Thanks Mark, I think I'm going to need it. There's a "universal" loom/harness on Ebay that claims will be a direct fit, but not all bikes are universal so I'm glad I have the fittings from the original so I can patch them in so to speak. I'll have it running and on the road before the next Builth meet 😉

Oh mate you don't know the freedom of riding a bike! The problem with bikes is the size of the riders ego. I would never own or ride a bike bigger than a 300cc and I would always ride it south of 70mph! Most of my travels on a bike I've barely ever been faster than 50 mph. I want to arrive at my destination in 1 piece, chugging along at 30mph is faster than walking and on a 125cc with a top speed of 50mph (65 screwing the engine downhill and a strong wind) I'm forced to use smaller b roads, which may take longer and cost a little more but the things you see are well worth the sacrifice of speed and convenience.

If she is on road by the time we meet at Mike's place next year, you can have a go. 👍😉

Or eBay
I did have a look on Ali express but I've never bought from it before so I wasn't sure if they were trustworthy or not

I was going to try this one

But I think I'll go for the one you suggested
Thanks Mike 🙂

Alternatively something like a Yamaha xj900 will get a fella there in reasonable comfort without vibrating your nads until they’re completely numb

The only other place that still stocks them was asking around £300 for a loom to fit a GS125 built before 2000 I hope it’s the right one for your bike.

Respect. Wiring looms are something i
Leave to the pros unless they are specific to a given application and come with Instructions!
