Has anyone used the

British Army Military Modular Sleep System

if so your thoughts on it please.

Only used the old 58 pattern bags...what is sending you down this path Rob?
Will this be for use out the back
Of the car?

Lightweight bag is good for summer use ( has built in mossi net and packs small ), similar to Snugpak Jungle bag .
Medium bag is good 3 season option , has central zip so goo for using in Bivvy or hammock .

Used together the system starts to become a faff for me ..... Liner must be tied into the lightweight bag and then the lightweight bag tied into the medium bag ..... for full weatherproffness this then goes into the sleeping bag cover ( bivvy bag ) ...... when i have used it like that it becomes harder to get in and out of and feels cumbersome .

It is however great value and good quality and depending on what you intend it to use it for may be a good option for you if you are in a static camp .

All packed together it is quite a lump , reminiscent of the old bouncing bomb :)

Some good video's on Youtube .

Hi
Liner must be tied into the lightweight bag and then the lightweight bag tied into the medium bag
This puzzles me. Just bought (new) lightweight bag size M and liner - but there are no loops INSIDE the lightweight bag to tie the inner liner to.

Sorry , I may have caused some confusion ........

The liner ties inside the medium bag .
Some videos suggest the set up as liner tied into the medium bag and the lightweight bag over that and all inside the bivvy bag .
Others suggest lightweight bag inside medium bag and bivvy bag over that .
I am not sure what the definitive set up is and cant find any MOD videos .
The system is designed to cover all four seasons by pairing options together .
I guess you could still use the liner inside the lightweight bag without it being tied in .
Hope this helps ......

There are quite a few videos on YouTube showing the different set ups

Thanks for the reply. The label inside the light bag states it must be used inside the medium bag to ensure water vapour management. So not on the outside.
But you are correct that some sources say the opposite - confusion! I'll go with the label instructions....

Strange though that there are ties for the liner in the medium bag, but not the lightweight bag. A modular system that is not entirely modular.
I have used liners before which were not tied into the main bag and they tend to get twisted up as I move in the night, so not very comfortable. I'll experiment.
