I received a SkyeHigh 500 Hydrophobic down sleeping bag from Alpkit last week and thought I'd post my initial thoughts . I wanted a three season down bag with a reasonable weight, comfort rating and pack size without breaking the bank . After looking at options I decided to give the Skyhigh go.
The sleeping bag was £159 but is currently in the sale at £145 . The sleeping bag arrived promptly, well packaged and with the usual standards of customer service and personalised message from the person who packed it.

A comfortably spacious cut gives a natural night’s sleep. Box-wall horizontal baffles with trapezoid side baffles prevent down migration, minimizing heat loss. Adjustable head closure and draft collar lets you to snuggle down to fend off the draughts.

Nikwax Hydrophobic is a water repellent treatment that makes down less susceptible to humid conditions, staying lofted for longer and prolonging the overall lifespan of your down.
First impressions are good, it comes with a storage bag and a compression bag. The standard of construction looks to be of good quality, the stitching looks good and the 650+ fill looks well dispersed and even. It has a little valuables pocket and a Grosgrain anti-snag zip guard.

I'm happy that it comes in under a kilo and packs down around the same size as a jungle bag (see comparison picture ) , it fits well and feels nice on the to the touch.
Last weekend I had chance to give it a try in the garden during the return of the Beast from the East , Temperature was -1 and windy , I had two hours in the tent on a Z mat and was toasty warm so was pleased with that.
I'm hammocking this weekend so will be further field testing but first impressions are not disappointing. With 500 g of Nikwax Hydrophobic down, SkyeHigh 500 is ideal for spring, summer, and autumn use in various temperate climates and has a comfort rating of -4 and an extreme rating of -20 (based on manufacturer's information and in no way confirmed by me)
