Curry Sauce

Curry Sauce


  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 1 onion
  • 5 gloves garlic
  • ginger root (approx. 2 inches piece, peeled and sliced)
  • 1/2 teaspoons turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons cumin seed
  • 1/2 teaspoons coriander seed
  • 2 green chillies (mild)


Preheat the olive oil in the sauce pan.

Add onion and turn the heat up.

Add ginger, chilli and garlic and stir well for few minutes.

Bring the heat down to low, and cook for approx. 13 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the turmeric, coriander and cumin seed and cook for further 5 minutes.

Add 4 – 5 tablespoons water, tomato puree and cook for 20 more minutes, over very low heat, stirring occasionally.
